Matt is a Registered Dental Hygienist, educator, and nationally respected speaker known for helping clinicians bridge the gap between evidence based knowledge and confident clinical implementation. He currently serves as Senior Professional Education Manager with HuFriedyGroup, where he leads advanced educational initiatives focused on elevating dental hygiene practice through innovation, instrumentation, and workflow optimization. Previously, Matt held the role of Clinical Education Manager, supporting dental hygiene and dental programs throughout the Northeast Region and partnering closely with academic institutions to advance clinical education standards.
With a Master’s degree in Adult Education from SUNY Buffalo State, Matt’s teaching philosophy is rooted in how adults learn best—through relevance, engagement, hands on application, and practical problem solving. His programs are designed to empower clinicians to think critically, refine advanced hygiene treatment protocols, and immediately implement techniques that improve patient outcomes, efficiency, and professional fulfillment. Matt earned his Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from SUNY Farmingdale and brings real world perspective from years of clinical experience in both general and periodontal practice settings. He began his academic career as an adjunct faculty member at SUNY Erie, the institution where he completed his clinical training, before transitioning into a full time faculty role at the University of Pittsburgh’s Dental Hygiene Department. At Pitt, Matt taught a wide range of didactic and clinical courses, including Dental Radiography I & II, Pre Clinic Instrumentation, and Local Anesthesia, while mentoring students in the development of advanced clinical skills and professional confidence.
