Melanie Boyd, BS, AAS, RDH, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology and an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She is the founder of New Wave Perio, a mobile periodontal endoscope company serving dental offices throughout Texas. With more than 12 years of experience across general, pediatric, and periodontal specialties, Melanie focuses on advancing non-surgical periodontal therapy and integrating oral-systemic health into clinical practice.

As Vice President of the Greater Fort Worth Dental Hygienists’ Association (GFWDHA), Melanie is dedicated to elevating the hygiene profession through education, technology, and collaboration. Her background in molecular biology and clinical periodontology enables her to bridge the gap between science and chairside care, helping clinicians recognize how the gums and oral tissues reflect the body’s overall health.
