Learning Objectives:
- Explain the oral–systemic link and how genetics and inflammation drive periodontal disease.
- Identify the limitations of blind SRP, especially in deeper pockets and complex anatomy.
- Compare blind SRP, endoscopic therapy, and surgery in terms of visualization, invasiveness, and healing potential.
- Understand how vision-guided periodontal endoscopy enhances accuracy and clinical outcomes.
- Strengthen patient communication using modern, value-driven language to improve case acceptance.
Beyond the Blind SRP introduces clinicians to a modern, vision-guided approach to periodontal therapy that elevates care beyond traditional blind instrumentation. This course highlights how genetics, host response, and chronic inflammation contribute to periodontal disease and its strong oral–systemic links to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s, pregnancy outcomes, and more. Through case examples and endoscopic footage, attendees will learn why radiographs can be deceiving, why blind SRP often leaves harmful deposits behind, and how the periodontal endoscope improves accuracy, outcomes, and patient understanding. Participants will leave with practical strategies to integrate precision-based periodontal care into general practice.
