Description

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe how physical, cognitive, and organizational ergonomics impact long-term clinician health and performance.
  • Demonstrate ergonomic body-awareness strategies and breath techniques that support musculoskeletal health and mental clarity.
  •  Apply workflow and communication techniques to reduce stress and improve sustainable chairside performance.

Dental professionals face increasing rates of musculoskeletal injury, mental fatigue, and emotional disengagement due to the demands of modern clinical practice. This course explores a whole-systems solution to clinician burnout by integrating three dimensions of ergonomics: physical, cognitive, and organizational.

Participants will engage in interactive strategies that include posture alignment, adaptive equipment, stress-reduction breathwork, and clinical workflow redesign. Through guided self-assessments and real-time demonstrations, attendees will learn to identify personal ergonomic risk factors, balance mental workload, and build daily recovery practices.

Taught by a certified ergonomist and experienced dental hygienist, this course empowers clinicians to apply ergonomic science alongside energetic self-regulation to improve their personal well-being and clinical efficiency. Participants will leave with a renewed capacity to deliver exceptional patient care without sacrificing their health or passion for dentistry.
