Human trafficking and human smuggling have become international news highlights in the past few months. It is important for all service workers to develop a keen sense of situations that denote human trafficking. Dental professionals are in key positions to identify trafficking victims and assist them in receiving the medical and dental care that they need. Our dental knowledge of the head, neck, and oral tissues make us key healthcare providers in recognizing human trafficking since many injuries occur in these areas. Dental identifiers will be presented. Making your office a trauma-informed facility is paramount.
