Dental statistics show today’s “senior” dental patients are a growing part of a dental practice. For some dental staffers these patients are a joy and for others a challenge.
“Senior patients” today and beyond have a different outlook regarding dentistry than their parents. These individuals do not believe they have to lose their teeth to the aging process. Many have the financial means to invest in their dental treatment but only if, they feel comfortable with the care and guidance from their dental team. These expectations can be challenging to any team member. The ability of the dentist and staff to navigate thru a series of medical conditions, medication therapies and personal needs can be overwhelming.
